Best antivirus/ad blocker/firewall freewares?

I just got a new laptoq (with win7) with a trial version of Norton internet security 2009 on it. I don't know if I will buy it or if I'll use freewares.

What is the best antivirus/ad blocker/firewall freewares that would do the same job than Norton internet security 2009? Would I be as well protected with them?

Thanks!

Here are some examples of each.

Antivirus - AVG, AVAST, AVIRA

Firewalls - Zonealarm, comodo free personal firewall.

Antimalware - malwarebytes, superantispyware.

johnb35 nailed it. The only other firewall that I would recommend is Online Armor's free version as long as your Windows 7 isn't 64 bit. They are working on a 64-bit release. It even has HIPS and it works well with Avast and Superantispyware.

From what I have been reading on the web many people find 7's firewall very good.

About ZoneAlarm, is it ZoneAlarm Internet Security suite or ZoneAlarm Extreme Security?

ZoneAlarm products aren't freeware and I'm unable to find a keygen for their new version.

tut tut.

:P

Zonealarm is good, but can get irritating with its pop-ups.

Try Microsoft security essentials....antivirus +spyware and its free, althoughi dont think it has firewall.

I recommend Comodo Internet Security, but prepare yourself for the nagging the firewall does after you've just installed it as it has to set up permissions for all your software.

As all other firewalls will do as well.

I have Comodo and I like it. It catches every file change on my pc. The only thing is every time you install something, it will ask your permission to continue.
