Best Antivirus Software Free

AntiVir is free, and it pops up with a warning when a virus is found. Plus, it updates daily.

That's what good antivirus software is supposed to do. LOL

The only thing I don't like about AntiVir, is you have to register your name, email, etc...

All I use on all 3 of my pc's is Microsoft Security Essentials, and I've never had a problem.

No in the Setup Process you can tick the second box on that page and you don't have to register.

On the security programs to use thread it says that norton/mcafee are not recommended because they take upa lot of cpu usage but is it that much more efficient to have multiple programs running instead? i.e Avira, super antispyware, and malwarebytes.

Avira is the only active scanning program running. Superantispyware and Malwarebytes are only on demand scanners unless you buy the paid versions which they have active scanning. However, you can have as many malwareprograms as you want. You just can't have more than one active virus program running.

I would suggest you for Ad aware antivirus and Avira antivirus..Or you can trust on Malwarebytes Antimalware...i have been using Ad aware from a long time with good results..
