I am going to buy a new video card soon and I figured since I've asked here before and all you helpful people who helped a lazy nub like me have given me good advice I decided to ask here again. I am looking into buying the 8800, and I am unsure which of them to get, comparing the 8800GT to the GTX (I think this is the one) they seem to be the same pretty much with the GT somehow outperforming the GTX in some aspects, and I figure it would be a good buy since I can use it in the event I get a new PC since this is a very good video card. Anyways, my point is should I get one now, and if thats your answer which one or wait a while like I was thinking for a price drop? Here are a few of the ones I was considering. Also since I am running on XP, would getting a card that is DirectX10 be backwards compatible to Direct X9? Because I really don't know if I'd like to upgrade to Vista just yet.

get 8800GT since its the best bang for your buck right now. it beat the GTS and comes fairly close to the GTX from the benchmarks that i've seen. you can use it with xp but on games, you won't be able to enable the DX10 features. you will need vista for that.
