Fx cards are REALLY bad. dont get one... id say at the lowest get a 6600gt, then a 6800GS or a 7800GT if you're willing. make sure your interface is correct (ex. AGP / PCI-express x16)
pci-e = 7800gt
AGP = 7800gs

whats your budget? do you have pcie or agp? if you have pcie get the 6800GS its a good card.

i mentioned above:D and pci i got but i also have an agp ?? which one would be better cause i know that agp was made for graphics card -thx for comments

but if you are to use it the future like you wanted to, with window vista

you need pci-express

the price can be $50 more expencive now, but you will like it in the future

Nvidia FX video cards are only bad for modern, graphic intensive games such as Doom 3 or Fear. Remember, not everyone has money to just throw around, or doesn't spend every last dime of real spending money on computer components. Also, a lot of people don't spend more time benchmarking their video cards than actually playing games. For a lot of people, 30-40 fps in their favorite video game is just fine for them.

Just a little shout out from Earth.

6600GT or preferably X1600Pro.

Incorrect.

Not every gamer needs performance in DX9 environments...
