I don't think you will find that Vista or any other version would be a problem for an ide drive by any brand. The complaints are probably those having problems with the softwares used for burning. With Vista you can expect to see some software problems running older burning programs anyways being the new MS product out. I have no problems at all with Sony burners in Vista here despite not having Vista ready apps to go with the new OS. Of course that's why XP will remain as the primary OS for the time being. I'll be going for a Sony sata model for the build here since the new board selected can handle 6 sata type drives.
Best bang for the buck? (DVD burner)
