Best BASIC free Firewall

The small firewall "failed" drastically when the leak test was run on it. The ZA free version passed when it prompted for the usual "allow/deny" when Leak Test tried to connect to it's home server. That's not good! You want something that offers better protection.
 
Mc who? That's like trying to order a healthy dinner at a fast food stop! What is being looked for and needed here is basic but "effective" firewall. If a freeware is available that will help. Apparently the full version of Zone Alarm was an annoyance where something "better" is needed. the ZA basic free version is annoying only when running a server connect type game when the prompt comes up while in the middle of running it. But it does pass a leak test which is one thing you want.
 
I tested Look 'N' Stop and it passed the test if I disapproved it from connecting, is that good or is it supposed to blcok it even if I approved it or what? :(

If you deny it, and it passes, that's good. It's basically up to the user there. What kind of firewall would deny it even after you allowed it, that's counter productive lol.

I am still running 0 firewall/real-time AV programs. Hack me! I dare you...:P
 
The thing you want most is a firewall that allows you to choose. This allows the normal programs(antivirus, spyware and adware removers, software updates, etc.) to connect when needed in order to download what is needed there. Many of the newer pc games require that you setup on online account in order to connect to their servers. A firewall that blocks everything 100% without allowances you select is pratically a total waste.
