has anyone had troubles getting service on Dells bought through Best Buy (or apparently any retailer. Walmart, Costco, ect)? because i'm reading some pretty bad horror stories. links above and quite a few more. we bought this PC...

and just had a question as to why IE 64 was not playing videos. wife called up Dell and they actually chewed her out for calling them when it was Best Buy that she should be talking to. i called back and got a more polite fellow, but was essentially told they could give no help at all and that we'd have to call BB. this seemed incredibly strange to me. every manufacturer offers a warranty. so i Googled and there's a lot of complaints out there about this.

we were even told of a "manufacturer's warranty" when buying the PC, and there's mention of it in store and on fliers. NO mention about this so called agreement between BB and Dell. so how can this be? i wouldn't mind so much going thru Best Buy but as the links above (and other complaints. some from the BBB) describe, some are taking them in for service and they are charged fees for what should be work covered under the original warranty. i think if they told be "you shoulda bought the extended warranty" i'd deck someone.

so anyone experience this? thanks in advance

My friend bought a Gateway from 'Best Buy' and the thing is just screwing up so badly. She got the extended warranty but it ended a week before everything went to hell. Gateway wont help her and Best Buy wont help her.

yeah, i have heard so many of these horror stories.

to answer your question about ie64 tho, there is no flash support for ie64. you will have to use ie32 if you want to watch flash based video like youtube

Yea, dealing with Dell really is a joke. For my main work, I was on the phone on and off for literally 2 weeks trying to get a damn harddrive replaced for a customer that was still under warranty. Their company is too large to be organized..
