Best Buy (replace instead of repair?)

I have always bought my computers from Best Buy, and I have my first laptop now, and it is messing up. In the past I had a desktop from bestbuy that was pretty messed up and they just gave me a new one, actually they upgraded it from a 666mhz with 17"crt to 800mhz with 19"crt, (This was back when a pIII 800mhz was pretty good) I now have a laptop that they have already diagnosed that it needs a new motherboard and a new hard drive, and a new battery, I am going to have them check a problem with the backlight not always activating by itself when the computer comes out of standby, and it randomly freezed up completly when watching video. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting Best Buy to just replace their laptop instead of having it shipped off to get serviced. If anyone has gotten a laptop replaced, any tips on how you approached the topic to store would be appreciated.

My laptop is a HP zv5240us p4 3.0 w/ht 512 ram 128 shared ati video 60 gig hd 15.4" widescreen slightly under 2 years old with a 3 year warrantee.

Well if it's still under warranty, I'd take advantage of it since you say that it's been messing up. I'd go directly through HP, their RMA service is pretty quick with their turn arounds. I've gone through them a couple times and never had a problem with their support. I'd trust them to fix it over Best Buy anytime.
