Alright well I got a friend in the market for a new card, and all he has to spend on it is $80. Cheap, I know, but he doesn't do any hardcore gaming or anything. Please don't respond with "Just save up for a new card," because that's not the case.
yeah an 8600 is like £45 to £55 which is $90 to $110 , but electronics are always cheaper in the US, so it should be like $80 to $90 which is around your budget
I wouldn't get the Sapphire. I've read bad reviews about their customer support. I would just look for any 8600GT with good reviews on NewEgg.com. Since you said he's not going to do a whole lot of gaming, the a clock speed difference of 20 or so MHz shouldn't make a difference. Just find a good price and you can always overclock later. I have my 540MHz card overclocked to 640MHz easy.
