Best card under 100?

have to agree with that.
the 7600 GS in general is a good card, even the regular ones.

a 7600gs combined with 2gb of ram will have you playing nearly all games on the market with medium to high graphics settings.

I don't think so...

For under a hundred dollars you will not be hitting any high settings with a good level of playability..

My Gt allows Me to play most my games on high (the new Overlord, Oblivion, whatever) The Gs should be able to hit med-high pretty easily..
 
1280 x 1024. Only rez I play on.

I'm also playing Stalker right now on the same resolution with just a couple of the sliders 75% (view distance, grass density), and no shadows from grass and I manage 18-30 FPS.

The 7600's didn't suck, as you suggest. In fact the were the best cards for your money for a long time.. That's why they're still suggested frequently to this day.
 
Hehe. Most people who pass through here are on a budget. But I regress. I'll continue to suggest the 7600gt where it so applies, while you.. Suggest the 2600xt over a better card, and.. A $500 HD 2900xt 1gb, and call it the "best bang for your buck". :P
