best card?

the best pci card is probably the x1550, but don't expect anything good, as PCI greatly bottlenecks the graphics card.

I'm not sure how much that equates to USD, but as he said, the best PCI card is the x1550, but it costs a good amount of money. I would look into the 6200 or x1300.

I have yet to see a X1650 PCI graphics card, but I might be wrong. If the PCI-E series was anything to go by, then the PCI version will suck. The X16xx series from ATi has been a total disaster, it was ripped to shreds by the 7600 which is what it was supposed to be competing against.
In terms of gaming PCI cards, I don't there are any because they are not designed for gaming, the most common PCI cards would be the 9200 from ATi and the 6200 from Nvidia. But the performance is really dismal so I don't advise you to even bother. Just get a new system if you want to play games, because the current generation games will definitely require at the very least a decent AGP or PCI-E graphics card to run.

thanks, i have bought the

ATI RADEON X1550 512MB PCI EXPRESS card.
You just said you need a PCI card. There is a huge difference between PCI and PCI-E, they do not work in the same slot.

If you dont have a PCI-E slot, then that card will not work.

And if you do have a PCI-E slot, there are A LOT better cards then that. Im guessing you paid quite a bit of money for the 512MB version, when you could have gotten the 256MB, since there wont be any difference performance wise.
