BEST cpu cooler "air"

I have the Zigmatek Dark Knight it has been doing awesome job when I had a dual core but now I have a 965 (125) quad core and want better cooling so I can run at 4.2ghz. It does not seem to like 1.5vcore it will get around 58c and I believe 62c is the max. The lower I can keep the temps the higher I can clock with a lower voltage. What is the best air cooler for this job and how much better do you think it is than my zigma? Thanks

:O wow thats pretty high for that cooler, i would think your max would be maybe 55c(then again, that is pretty darn high volt you got running on air :/), what type of thermal you go on there? And did you try reapplying it, to see if it wasn't touching it properly?

Yes cooler is seated properly and I am using Artic Silver 5 thermal paste. I even placed another fan on it but made little to no difference..

i have been thinking about the CM v8 but I am unsure how much better it is than my current heatsink...?

Personally I prefer either Scythe Mugen 2 or Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme. One of the best CPU coolers you can find.

are these a big margin better that my zimatek? or should i just invest into a water block..

Hey
in my opinion water blocks are better then air
and if you are planning to overclock
then this is the direction to go

This is the water block i am getting for my Amd2 Athlon 64

Depends on you PC specs. If you have something else, apart from CPU to cool (for e.g. graphic card, RAM etc.) then invest into water cooling. If you want cooling just for your CPU then a radiator with a fan will be enough
