Spyware Terminator (w/Resident protection) and SUPERantispyware (standalone scanner) can be used together, and should provide one of the best free Anti spyware configurations.
It's basically a more competent program. Castlecops has a very nice comparison page on Freeware AV's, Antivir scores better in enough (third party) tests to call it superior to both Avast and AVG.
Just trying my best to get a virus on some computers with AVG and AntiVir. In my tries AVG was real good of telling me I (had got a Virus). AntiVir was alot better of stopping it from infecting it to start with.
I've used AVG, Avast and AntiVir. After a while both AVG and Avast stopped working properly, for some reason they wouldn't update longer. I checked if the firewall or anything else was interfering but I couldn't find anything. Eventually tried AntiVir and so far no problems. Every time there's file that's infected, and you open the folder it's in ,you are informed about the situation and given options on how to proceed.
i wud suggest tat you install AVG as ur antivirus s/w and install spybot for spywares. i dont think there is anything better than spybot against spywares. avg 8 is awesome but lacks antispywares. so spybot can fill the page. if ur connected to the internet always, you cud do any antivirus online scan.. that wud be the best option.
