Pretty much anything is. I still don't get why you'd pay for either of those two when there are free alternatives out there which in the long run are better?

There are a number of free antivirus programs with different time durations. The most one being used is Avast, which comes with a one-year free trial. Other free notable ones are Kaspersky and Microsoft's own - Security essentials.
