I did and even posted in the thread that they had already released updates to fix the problem to same day the problem was reported.

Your the one that started the thread telling everybody the world was ending. That one turned out to be a dead end too.

Once something like is published any good company will take immediate action to see if there's anything to the claims. And what you seem to miss is the fact that I had some serious doubts to start with when first coming across all that from the start.

Another thing you don't know is that there was another similar article published a month prior to the one referred to in the thread there. As far as "Gloom and Doom" that was the reader's own discretion as far as any article is concerned. That's not what I've been finding here with AVG after several years of use! So goes your "end of the world" prophesy.

Your funny PC. Your the best at riding both sides of the fence. Problem is, you keep getting your pants caught on the top.

Oh really?! The article referred to in that thread wasn't the only one eventually found. The one that thread sees is the Daily Tech article seen at http://www.dailytech.com/Update+AVG...s+Critical+Windows+Component/article13407.htm

That simply points out that the XP users that were effected were those who went ahead and removed the user32.dll file when AVG supposedly reported a false positive. For anyone concerned at the time all you had to do was temporarily disable AVG or simply not simply go ahead and knock out a Windows file.

At the time another article was also seen about this at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/11/11/avg_false_positive/

But what soon became an obvious rumor rather then fact was suddenly seeing another article from the same source only a few days later about AVG knocking Adobe Flash as well?
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/11/14/avg_false_positive_flash/

That was just a little bit too soon when no one else was actually seeing any problems at all. Makes you wonder who actually is trying to start a rumor mill wouldn't you say?!

You didnt even get it, never mind.

I already know what you are trying to "insinuate" as usual. It just won't work here. sorrrryyyy! The purpose of that however is still a totally different subject belonging there not here.

As far as AVG itself like I have repeatedly stated I still have to see any real problem. The only small annoyance as some might call it is seeing the popup message stating "AVG has failed to connect to the server".

That was first noticed before first coming across the articles and later assumed to be something Grisoft was doing to correct the so-called problem update. But it still will come from time to time while no problems are noticed. I've been hearing this from other sources as well.
