Best Graphics Card for ~100 dollars

Hey there. I have a budget of ~100 dollars for a new GPU, excluding shipping, as my computer is pretty good except for this. I will be using this mostly for gaming (BF3, ARMA 2, ect.) so please keep this in mind. I have absolutely no idea what anything means on video cards other than for the VRAM so I thought I'd come here to ask for help. I prefer the card to be Nvidia, but ATI or other brands is okay too. I want the absoloute best I can get for the money for gaming.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

What's your power supply? if this is a store bought computer then that has to be replaced to which would be about 50 for a decent one, but for the question itself, the AMD (ATI was bought by them) HD5770/6770 (same card, 6770 just rebadged with better 3d playback or something like that)

I think I have a quad core 2.7 ghz processor, 6 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 8600 512 MB VRAM, Windows 7. How can I tell what my power supply is? It is store bought, as my old rig died on me all the sudden and I had to quickly get this one for school and other purposes.

open up the side and read the label on the big box in the back top. Unless it was a custom built one, the psu will suck, and need to be replace almost guarenteed

yea, id say you can drop in something low end into that no problems, but a mid to upper end card, will need a aftermarket replacement. Can you throw more money at the entire thing or need the total to match 100 dollars?

Depends on how much more I need to throw in really. I can throw in more money for a new power supply if it's reasonable though.

I'm willing to pour in 200 though for both. I don't want to do what I did when I bought my first graphics card... buy something that's low end and be stuck with it for a while.

Jonny (or anyone really), can I ask you though, the power supply you recommended before, will it work with the Saphire 2GB card or will I need to buy a different power supply for that card?

I assume your talking about the CX500. That would work with most single GPU setups. Most certainly would work with that 6950.
