best graphics card for $130

i have a question....
u know theres graphics card that cost like $500-1000
i know there good, but why do they cost so much??? does the physical material used to make them really cost ALOT more or is it just part of the marketing to make more money.

They are just a lot faster. Look at the specs, they have way more cores in the processor, more vRAM, higher clock speeds, faster memory speeds, higher memory bus width, and the 1000 dollar ones are 2 of the 500 buck ones on a single card.

u dont understand what im talking about. but does it cost more for the company material wise to make the faster graphics card

i got what you were asking but thought you might have wanted that information as that question is just a little weird.

AFAIK it costs them the same amount for the chip and PCB, but the coolers are more powerful as they are a lot hotter than the lower end products. No matter what they make more off the upper end stuff though, price/performance drops from each card to the next better, but at the upper end ones the difference starts getting really big, marginal gains for nearly 100 bucks

Higher end cards will have higher quality chokes/Caps, more power phases and usually a larger and better quality PCB. They have higher end coolers. AMD/Nvidia will charge more for the higher end GPUs. All add to the cost. Plus there is a cost bump for the sheer fact thats its a faster card

didn't think about all that crap, wonder how much it actually costs amd/nvidia and the 3rd party companies overall per card.

Have no idea really. Just a wild guess is probably something like. Say a 300 buck 7950. Newegg probably makes something like 75 bucks. A what ever brand, the manufacture probably makes the most profit. Might cost them like 125 bucks to manufacture the card. They buy the parts to make the cards in mass quantities so they get parts pretty cheap. Some manufactures dont even make the card and have like Foxconn make them. Where as Foxconn makes about every part you can think of theirself as in the PCB/connectors/back brackets/coolers and so on.Then on down the line of the memory/GPU/caps/chokes/mosfets and resistors. That way everybody has overhead in case a price war breaks out.

The 7770 will stuggle at 1080p with BF3 @ high I wouldve thought.

Oh it wont be doin much at 1080p actually. My 470 which has more vram and power struggles to hold playable frames at 1280x960, but i am fully maxing it, one or two setting lowered would make a big difference for me, i average between 40 and 50 dependng on the map

well i dont have enough money for a better one.. i can prabably play at medium settings.. and i saw some vidoes it seems like it plays it fine
