Best Graphics Card?

Edit: Did a few tests found out something strange.

on CSS, all graphics on high, even in HD i get 50-100fps. The strange thing is i was expecting a huge boost of at least 50-100 fps if i put all my settings on LOW.. but i had the exact same fps. both the high and low settings were tested in 800x400

The results of your test seem to say that there is another bottleneck in your system that is not allowing you to go over 100 fps.

You ran all of your tests in 800x400. That is a really low resolution. Just looking at your fps, I think that you can get a bit more performance in your games. With your settings maxed, try to get your resolution as high as possible while maintaining about 60 fps at average game play. (This will allow your frame rates to drop down ~ 10-20 fps during graphically intense parts of the game without appearing jumpy. Most of the sources that I have found said that 45 fps is good for mid to upper gaming. But it is all personal preference, there are some who are fine with 15. ) If your game is having minor trouble at a resolution, scale back the settings until you get what you want for performance. Just a tip on picking a resolution; newer monitors (not crt) like to be run in their native resolution. You should be able to find that on the packaging or if you change the resolution on your display it should be the max that it can run. Running a game in the monitor's native resolution will prevent it from having to stretch 3 pixels from the output of your card over 5 pixels in the display itself. It just makes for a better picture and easier on the display. If you can't achieve the native resolution, try to scale it back to a resolution that has the same aspect ratio. (i.e. will not run at 1600x1200, so scale it back to 1280x960 since both are 4:3) This may not be a huge issue, but I found better results when I tried it this way.

This article has a great table with resolutions on it:

Hope this helps and if anyone finds that I have something wrong here please let me know

Oh and congrats on getting the card to work! :D:good:

Brilliant! thanks thats really helped me alot :) you learn new things every day hehe. I will try this tomorrow morning when my eyes are opened lol.

However.. another very strange result i have found.

I did the stress test on CSS and my fps was SKY high! i was getting upto 400fps . on average around 200fps.

Im just wondering how come when i play online i only get around 60 and then when i do a stress test on css my fps increases greatly!

Happy to help.

I am not sure but it may be because you are linked into a server. The server that is hosting your game in multilayer may not be able to achieve those fps. However when you are running it by yourself, your system settings will determine the performance. But I'm not 100% on that.

Yeh maybe, be it im pretty sure that playing css online does not reduce fps from 400 to 60 :P online gaming does reduce performance but not as much as that. A lot of people say that its my CPU which is the bottle neck.. but if it was how come i manage to get upto 400fps in the sress test and only 60 online. it has to be something else... and im sure someone has the answer out there. just a matter of time before i find that person lol
