Best laptop cooling pads

So I am buying a laptop today and I have been reading it runs pretty hot so I am planning on getting a cooler but have no idea what to get
Just looking for some advice
You can either just list a specific brand or if you want a specific model
And I am getting a 18.4" Toshiba

From what I hear, cooling pads either do nothing or increase temps. The best thing to do is to get a rack to raise the laptop up and allow easier airflow.

Where'd you hear that? I've used cooling pads before and it lowered the CPU temp by almost 10ºC. It also allows you to use the laptop on your lap without direct contact.
 
Usually when building a custom laptop at a site like Xotic PC or Cyberpower, they will list available upgrades under the accessories section. Look closely, and you'll see the ones you can use. Be sure to get a cooler that is applicable for the size that you have, otherwise it might not do anything as stated earlier. I can't say which are good and which are not, because i've never used any. An 18.4" is going to need some serious cooling, so get the best you can afford.

Not really, it's not popular enough (and expensive enough) of an item to warrant reviews and such. Just look for one with bigger fans as it'll probably be quieter.
