I don't know a lot about laptops butt........I bought a Toshiba floor model a few years ago. about this time. I payed a $1000, full numeric keypad, 17" duel layer burner and all the slots for cameras. I was only going to say since i suggest negotiating with the store if ya can. the new models are out. its a good opportunity this time of year.
this sucker i have i can only say there is nothing portable about it. its heavy and not portable. the 17" screen is nice but my eyes are not what they were.
i take it out in the back yard or to the garage looking for space or what ever.
its nice to buy for family.........mostly mom and dad. If he had need for portability then something like a 15" will need to be considered.
it will be a merry Christmas and quite a surprise.

that can make that decision.
