Ok so im trying to find a good linux to boot from usb flash drive. Right now im using gOS which is alright and works great except there are alot of features missing. I am downloading pendrivelinux right now and im going to try that. From what I understand it is just like ubuntu. It is so easy to boot from flash drive and im just having fun. Anyone know of any other linux to try? Well the download just got done so im gonna try that and i'll post back with results.

what every you want to get is the answer to your question. Generly the distros are compact and not fully featured but if youget a 2Gb+ flash drive you can install the full OS.

I have been using SLAX.

Damn Small Linux

I don't have too much experience with that one, but it should do...

last time i treid to get DSL on usb flash drive from windows following their instructions the mouse would never move( it would click but not be moveable). WTF  no one knows why.

1. A boot loader has to be installed on the usb flash drive

2. the target computer must be capable of booting from usb. chceck in BIOS or bring up the boot selector when the computer turns on.

Actually its alot easier than that! All you do is copy an iso linux to the flash drive and make it bootable. Here's a good site for how to do it. It's so easy anyone could do it with basic computer skills.
