Best looking game ever

Naturally Doom3. Followed closely by FarCry and then HL2. A whole slew of other games follow right after that too
 
argg macs... well i would agree with doom 3, but i would say far cry is right up there. and half-life 2 of course, is a close third. sometimes i boot up far cry just to look at the lush tropics is such beautiful detail
 
Since you already named the ones I wanted to say, I'll say The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. That was a pretty good looking game. :D

YEAH RIGHT!!!! Doom 3 SUCKS!!! I hated it so much I sold it! Half-Life 2 Kicks the CRAP out of Doom 3. Doom 3 got high ratings but not near as high as Half-Life 2!!!!!

i like hl2 and far cry, but im not sure for doom 3 - its too dark to see anything most of the time.

I can understand your point, but for me that's the whole reason the game gets my vote. Doom3's shadow techniques wouldn't be as rich if the whole map was bathed in light. Plus it was a very clever addition making it impossible (without a mod) to hold a gun and a flashlight at the same time...

I kinda have to agree with whoever said it, while Doom 3 is built upon the most powerful engine graphics wise ever, its too dark. If they had put a little bit more light in the game, such as at least like one light per room, that would not only make it easier to see monsters, but you would be able to enjoy other aspects of the graphics other than shadows like textures, and color. (and if there was only one light in the room, that would definetly also cast some sick shadows) I think I'm gonna change my vote to Far Cry, because after playing through it, I just can't appreciate the graphics because of the darkness.

Theres a few points to be made about that
1. Anyone who says Doom3 sucks is a fanboy
2. Anyone who says Doom3 sucks is an absolute idiot
3. Anyone who says Doom3 sucks doesnt know the first thing about computer graphics
That being said,
4. Anyone who trys to compare "ratings" is a moron. Thats like saying "This movie is awesome cuz some rich old white dude (i.e., Ebert) said so" -- a clear indication of the simple lack of ability to ... hmmm.... apply "critical thinking skills"

Or strap it to your gun, like the mod does which you can get. For me that takes a bit away from the gameplay tho...
