Best Memory Available?

Currently I play WoW, but I do alot of other things like programming and recording music. I just want the baddest machine possible, but mainly for gaming. So having said that, maybe you could suggest some mobo/cpu/ram/gpu possibilities for me(maybe thats for another thread tho...idk). I picked the striker extreme cuz it looked the answer to all my needs(FAST AS HELL).

BTW>>>Someone said OCZ ram doesn't work well with ASUS boards? Well that's something we need to discuss I suppose....please advise on that.

If your looking for a bad arse machine I will just post the rig I am going to make.

You will probbably want to take out the PhysX card, and change the dual 8800gtx's to 8800 Ultras.

And then there was Kingston HyperX. As far as SLI boards there are number of good ones by different makes. You will have to choose according to price range, quality of brand, and what it offers.

The rig you specced out has exactly the same mobo/cpu/ram/video card/hdd as the one I specced out in the Desktop thread. The replies I received for it were that OCZ ram and ASUS boards sometimes conflict and also that the Striker Extreme board may not be the best choice, but to me, it looks like the rig you specced would be my "dream rig". Any thoughts?

Also, I don't thing I would need the Physx card unless they decide to implement support for World of Warcraft. Isn't that card just on a "per game" use at the moment? If the game is not supported then it is useless right?

World of Warcraft doesn't need a PhysicsX card, I don't think it ever will either, does it even have physics?

Things like Cellfactor and Crysis need them, Personally, if you have a decent CPU, I don't thin you need it.

World of Warcraft doesn't need a PhysicsX card

I think you are correct. WoW doesn't need a physx card. But the fact still remains that I want a computer that is capable of doing wutever the hell I want it to...I may want to play games like Cellfactor and Crysis one day. I'm not really concerned about the physx card as I don't think it is very "value added". So anyone object to me speccing out the rig mentioned by XRT listed above?

I could run those games here on the older MSI Radeon X1300 Pro and still make it work. And that's far from a high end card. The only problem you will probably run into is that some games won't install or run well on Vista like they did in XP. Metal of Honor:Allied Assault is one title to start with. 3rd party drivers are another with the new Windows.
