Best monitor choice? (-. -)

Alright so I bought the gtx 980 ti and I am currently trying to find the best suitable monitor. I have found two monitors that caught my attention:

Acer XB270HU- 1440p 144hz g sync ips
Acer XB280HK- 4k 60hz g sync tn

They are both roughly the same price. Which one would you think I should buy? I've heard 4k on a single 980ti isn't recommended, and 1440p gaming would be the best choice for that. What do you think?

*If you have any other monitors to suggest please do write their names :) *

Gaming or productivity?

I'd take the 144 Hz display for gaming only. You could also save a good chunk of change with the 1080p variant.

Gaming or productivity?

I suppose I should have mentioned that. It's more for gaming: I'd like to play games on ultra graphics, yet maintaining a smooth experience with 60+ fps.
For example I'd like to play GTA V or The Witcher 3 on ultra settings, with a solid 60+ fps.

That's why I tend to like the 144hz display better because I like my gaming experience as smooth as possible, and combining that with the g-sync will surely make for an orgasmic experience ;) .

I have the 4k one and I love it but it really is personal preference. If you care more about how well you do in games get the 144hz 1440p one, if you care more about how the game looks get the 4k 60hz one. @lincsman Not really. Even with my ti overclocked to 1450mhz I need to turn down some settings.

Um, no. A 980 can't do 4K. Not on high settings anyways. Nvidia recommends 2 970s in SLI as a minimum for 4K. The 1440P screen is the clear choice. G sync 144Hz is where it's at and the resolution is one the card can push very comfortably. For a user who insists on 60FPS + the 4K is totally out of the question with that level of GPU power.
