Best monitor to be used as tv?

Im aware that most monitors should be able to display video from a tv box via hdmi but...
My Lg LCD is snowy and cuts out every few seconds so i just bought a:
BenQ but that dosnt recognise a signal at all.

Maybe its something to do with response times?
It narrows the search but ideally i want something with built in speakers to.

Any tips?

Any1 had any experience with this?
I want to connect a hdmi from my mag tv box and use a monitor to watch sports while im at the computer(hence why im also looking for built in speakers).

Sorry, But I am backwards. I use a tv for a monitor.

Thanks for the reply! That could actually work for my needs, i could look for a 22" lcd tv!
Can anyone tell me what tv specs would also work well as a computer monitor??
