I had a Intel Core i7-479oK gave to me by my brother who up graided. What would be the best current motherboard to buy. Brother had an Asus board that is broke/stopped working. Had 32 ga memory that he also gave me.

'ga' is a really awkward phrasing. Or are you saying 'guh' like G as a word? :p

Depends on your goals, unless you have a particular requirement there isn't a huge difference between a $120 board and a $300 board.

+1 for the ASUS Z97-A. My friend really enjoyed the build I did for him. It's been about 6 months and he hasn't had an issue with the mobo :)

I did a build recently with an i7 4790K and a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5 and it all went well and the Gaming 5 is a good board. I didn't need to upgrade the BIOS on the Gaming 5 to get the 4790K support because it already had a BIOS that supported it.

The Gaming 5 is probably cheaper than what you are looking for but general rule of thumb is that Gigabyte boards are great, as are ASUS and MSI boards too (but I usually stick to Gigabyte now for new builds).
