Hey!

Iam about to upgrade my pc a bit but cant decide what I should get. Here are the things im thinking about- but ill only get one of these so need to pick one.

XFX GeForce 7900 GT XXX Edition 256MB £305.44

I can sell my ofd GPU to put some money towards this too, so not the most expensive part by far. Would I notice much difference comparted to my urrent GPU?, which seems to run everything on High Setting, even doom3 etc.

2 x Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 200GB 2000JS SATA-II MB £ 117.90

I was thinking about getting another 2HDD's and setting up raid 0 with a fresh windows install, but would this really give me a big performance increase?

Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-5400 TwinX (2x512MB) £82.19

Another gig of ram? This isnt EXACTLY the same as my first two 512mb sticks but can you have 2 the same sticks and 2 the same sticks but different (if you know what I mean lol).

or

Watercooling? I would buy a kit for about £100 - £160, this would bring down my annoying high temps, but I think more airflow in the case might help anyway so some cheap case fans might save me some money...........but then again iv always wantd watercooling....lol.

Let me know what you think guys!

Thanks,

the 7900gs is a much better card, and will probably allow you to run max settings

the raid... no.... the extra hdd will be a welcome addition if you current one is getting full ;)

you can run it, be sure to match up the pair in the same colour slots so as to use dual channel. There is a slight issue with command rate, but its overall you will see performance gains

unless you are overclocking i cant see many reasons that you need such exotic cooling

thanks!

how come "raid...no"?, if I was to get another 2 identical HDD's and raid 0 improvs loading time etc, why would I choose not to use it?, my mobo alredy ras raid contolers etc.

Also, would a nice cheap watercooling system (saw one on www.overclockers.co.uk for about £60 quid) do the trick?, or would it actually be worse than my current 3D Rocket CPU cooler? I do overclock, and would prefer to have a silent pc since its n 24/7 in my room and buzzing can get annoying.

raid is overrated, and will give you now performance gains in loading or playing games.
There is also the issue of redundency

Why do people have raid 0 systems then?, What about the benchmarks that show that systems with raid 0 do something faster than systems with just 1 hdd.

Also, I noticed a big performance increase when I went fom 512Mb to 1gig or RAM, would another gig increase the performence again or not so much since many apps wont need that much ram.

thanks

If your gonna buy watercooling get a good set, or else your gonna end up with something even worse or the same. I wouldnt get the watercooling though because your already running at 3.7ghz so there isnt much further you can go.

I would get the ram or the new gpu.
