Best places to Buy parts/desktops

I was looking to either buy a desktop system or build one myself. The main components that are a must have for me are an Athlon 64 socket 939, 256Mb and up video card, 80GB and up hdd, 1GB of RAM. I am using this machine for primarily gaming, school, and business, in that order :) And my biggest thing right now is to get Battlefield 2 up and running smoothly :)

I have been refered to sites like ibuypower.com, tigerdirect.com, and so on.

What are the sites that you all use the most and what is the cheapest system I can find out there with all or some of these components?

Also are there any complete system packages (monitor, keyboard, etc) that are under $600 that could be recommended?

Thanks in advance!

newegg.com is prob most pop site. look here. also, use mysimon.com to look up items and compare for the best price. works great. good luck.

Most of us here buy the components and build our own for many different reasons not the least of which is cost.
It sounds like you need to decide to build or buy first, then set a budget or pick the base components that you want to build a system around.
You mention buying a system under $600 and they are out there but non of them will be a "gaming" system.

Awesome I have been checking out newegg alot in the past hour and I like what I see. Thanks for the help!

Yea newegg.com is awesome.... pretty good shipping prices too. So your gonna build it? That would be for the best... get some true knowledge of computer internals, its a great learning experience.

Most items on newegg have very cheap shipping, and it usually arrive within 2-3 days. Although there are some places that have the same item a little cheaper, i trust newegg, and i like there layout. also being able to see the shipping costs before adding to your cart or entering your credit card information.
