Best PSU for the P180B ??

I will need a psu for the Antec P180B i'm going to order. I know very little about these ... but was thinking at least 550 watts, modular, with sli support. Does this sound right for a conroe system?

Also, after reading reviews on this case ... it is often mentioned to get a psu with long cables becase of the psu's location. With also keeping this in mind .... what should I get :confused:
 
well im checking out all the psu's on newegg. and with my very limited knowledge this psu looks really good (from what i can tell).

its got sli support

its got modular cables

its black to match the antec p180b case i wanna buy

the newegg reviews are all very good. one even said it has long cables and powers everything in his thermaltake armor case from top to bottom

a price i can live with

is this a nice one? any1 here own it? :o
 
Well,really i tend to gain an idea from the reviews,and tons of people like it.I would dish out the cash personally for it.

That looks like a pretty good find. I would go for it, but i would check for reliability issues aswell before jumping in.
 
THAT PSU DOES NOT FIT IN THE CASE - CABLES AREN'T LONG ENOUGH.

Supposidly the Antec TruePower 500W Modular (or something ;P) works fantastic.
 
thanks. i researched the same thing and read that the cables were long enough but the 120mm fan in the lower compartment had to be removed because the modular cables were screw-in and took up alot of space. either way ill pass on the hiper...

so i seen this at newegg, Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply. its 50 watts more so maybe its better? i was worried about when dx10 comes out if this could handle it? dont want to spend money on a power supply that will be obsolete and i could avoid this by spending just a little more. I dont know. But sticking with an antec psu for this antec case seems to make sense.

is this a little better than the TruePower 500W Modular ?
 
just to let you know the color of the PSU wont factor into the the aesthic looks of the P180B because its in the back

i got a simple beige 500W Antec Smart Power 2.0 and it ill work fine
 
I now see on the antec site that is says

"To optimize performance of your P180 the choice of your power supply is crucial. Antec strongly recommends choosing from our Phantom, NeoHE or TruePower series"

So ill just go with one of these.

Just wondering though, what are the advantages of their new truepower trio line with 3 12v rails? And will their 550w models be able to handle dx10 cards and all? Thanks!
