Best RAM for gaming?

Hey all, I'm looking into getting a 1GB stick of RAM for games like BF2 and WoW. I've read that OCZ and Corsair are pretty much the standard when it comes to gaming RAM but which of two is better? I don't really care about price that much unless it's like $200 for a stick or something.

P.S. I already have a stick of Ultra 512mb. Should I just stick to the same brand for better performance? Also what do you think of dual channel at this point? Thanks!

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND DUAL CHANNEL. So get another 512, or if you have the money trash the 512 and get 2 x 1024.

EDIT: Heres a nice article on the Pros of Dual Channel ram and how to set it up.

Btw, 2 x 1024 Dual is faster than 4 x 512 Dual

Great! Thanks for th info. What do I do with the 512mb non-dual stick I already have? Will it work with other dual sticks?

Depends on what you want to do. As long as you get another 512 stick with the same speeds it will dual channel. You cannot dual channel with 3 ram sticks. Only 2 or 4.

The stick isnt really non dual, its just not in dual mode since there is not a similar ram stick in your pc. Idk if you didnt know that or you said that wrong.

BTW: Nice GPU, mines outdated... :(

Well I'd like to just some hardcore gaming like BF2 (finally) and I'll probably have school stuff as well (I already use my laptop for that). But as long as my mobo can dual channel 2x512mb sticks to make it faster than just one stick of 1024mb then I'll buy the other one tonight! Do you know off hand if my mobo supports dual channel? I'm pretty sure it does but who knows.

Haha thanks :) That vid card is my pride and joy right now lol. I can't stop bragging about it!

How do you setup dual channel on your mobo? Is it just in the bios?

Thank you so much again for all your help man! I'm glad SOMEONE can help me here with this.

Well I ordered another stick of 512 from the same manufacturer to make sure it will work together. Thanks again!
