Hey guys I just got a new notebook and I'm looking for a software that'll basically keep my notebook safe and block it from anything, whether its a virus, malware, spyware, hacks, etc.. So whats the best possible thing to get?

I know there are many softwares for specific things, but I'm just looking for the best 1 or 2 program to buy. Price don't matter.

Thank you

Norton 360

I have several PC's at home and all of them are protected by Norton 360.
So far I havn't had any problems.
It is a very user friendly programe, it's easy to use and it does most of the work itself.
I have tried several other antivirus programes but none come close to Norton 360.

Here is pcmag.com's review of norton 360:

By Neil J. Rubenking

Norton 360 takes care of your computer's security, keeps it tuned up, and automatically backs up your files—all without getting in your face. It offers security as a service, like Windows Live OneCare and McAfee Total Protection, but does so better than either of these competitors. Even more than Norton Internet Security 2007, Norton 360 handles important tasks on its own without asking you to make decisions. If you do somehow hit a snag, you can get help via live chat without ever leaving the product. This is a suite you can install on Granny's computer without finding yourself promoted to permanent personal-support technician.

i personally HATE norton in all ways and forms to me there products are getting worst. to prove this i partion my drive cloned in it and scaned both systems seperatly with Norton 360 and AVG Free Virus Vault, AVG picked up 19 Infections yet Norton Did not but with futher study i found that Kaspersky is my fave

I use McAfee. I see a lot of people don't like it but it has been great to me for years. I have never had anything unwanted on my computer. Never a virus, Trojan, spy ware, pop-ups...nothing, it blocks stuff all the time. The site advisory thing is very nice. If you do a google search...the list of sites that come up some may have a McAfee warning. You can actually click on the McAfee symbol and read about what virus was linked to that website and when it was there and how many computers got infected. I have a special military version of McAfee...we get it for free. I am pretty sure the normal public version has the same features.

Everything I have ever read about Kaspersky has been good. If I had to buy one...that would be my choice.

i suppose it depend wat ur doing with it if it was for just a basic home comp just go with AVG or Mcfae but if u need a more robust unit (like me) go for Kaspersky

I use AVG and like it much better then Norton. I find AVG to use less resources on my computer, with Norton, It was "sucking" resources away from other programs. Now with AVG, my system runs smoother. Just my 2 cents

AVG is great, even the free version beats Norton hands down in my opinion.

Only install Norton if you want to see a noticable loss in performance!

Mcafee isn't too bad, still a bit of a resource hog though.
