Best speakers under $40 ? Best sound card under $30?

Title says all. I never really thought much about this before until I say K3rupt's setup. I really have stuck with the Sound blaster 32/16's ISA cards and stuff. Really outta date in this area. I just used the integrated sound to be truthful.

One Creative model only seen for $18.99 at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102182

Hope you don't mind the $.99 added on top of the $40- for a retail not Open Box deal on some Logitech speakers. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121119

The speakers were about the best in that price range. For a "good" PCI type sound card that offers far more along with 5.1 surround sound capability you are going to have to spend more to get more! Even many onboard chips sound better then the old ISA 2channel stereo only cards.

X-230's hands down are the best speakers for the money. I've recently upgraded to a pair of Z-2300's and love them, I'm a logitech fan boy after my experience with their speakers. I have a set of x-230's with the box and manual if your interested. Name a price if your interested and I might let them go.

I certainly give Logitech the edge over even the Creative speakers seen in that price range. I paid $60 for a 5.1 set and have never regretted it. That set has seen newer versions since that look even better.

The problem there is that oscaryu1 wants to go for a cheap 2channel card not one that supports a 5.1 surround sound setup. For a cheap pair of 2 1/2 speakers the X-230s would be the item there. There are a ton of two speaker pairs while those looked the best of the line for simple desktop stereo application.
