Best Thermal Interface Material

Arctic Cooling's MX-2 seems to be raved about nowadays, but I may be right in thinking that the difference is only 1-2c on an average CPU. There is also another one which I can't remember the name of, but I remember it was so powerful at sticking it was almost impossible to remove the CPU without bending the heatspreader!

Arctic Silver Ceramique compound is supposedly safer, as it's non-conductive. I don't think it's better.. Silicon based compounds might be better, I'm not sure on that count.

I've heard Shin Etsu makes a slightly superior product as well.

TX2>Ceramique, and in some benchmarks, its better than AS5 and MX-2

I dont know if this is the exact company, but I remember hearing about a liquid silver compound that you could use. But was very difficult, more expensive, and didnt give that much better of a result.

Here is the link.

Honestly, if you care that much about a couple of degrees its most likely better to just get a different HSF (copper is better then aluminum) or fans (larger mm) or go watercooling (liquid nitrogen >.>).
