Best trackpad

In my opinion the best trackpad on the market is the Macbook pro's.

I am planning to purchase a new laptop, and was wondering if any PC laptops can rival a macbooks?

going just off the trackpad, none will measure up. Hardware wise you can get a lot more PC for the money than you can for Mac.

true, but the OP is asking about the trackpads. which are barbaric anyway. I would take a trackpoint over them anyday.

I don't know if this helps, by my Lenovo Ideapad Y570 has a trackpad that feels fairly similar to that of a macbook. I don't know what you are looking for exactly, but it pinches and zooms like a champ and lets you scroll with 2 fingers. Best trackpad I've ever used.

Most manufactures fail at multi-touch trackpads... I refuse to use any without dedicated buttons... While the apple's are quite good, I still have issues with them. And oh gosh, don't get me started with HPs from a year or two ago!

But I must say, I'm VERY happy with my new Acer and it's ELAN touchpad. Its multitouch actually works quite well. I actually use some of the basic functions frequently (2-finger scroll, 2-finger middle click).

You mean the ones where the mouse buttons are part of the trackpad and it's impossible to actually click?
