I'm a high school computer n00b who just build his first computer. 
I spend about 150 bucks in total (since i'm dirt poor) and am saving up for upgrades. I got all these parts second hand, but they work fine so far. I'd like to get a bit more out of this machine though.
Pentium D 3.0ghz
NVIDIA 9400gt 1g memory
2gigs of ddr2 RAM
40g hard drive (no idea the model or speed, it's about 10 years old i think, got it at the salvation army.)
Monitor=HP pavilion m50
OS: windows 7 ultimate (pirated version
, because windows voided the access key on my first legit copy) 32 bit
motherboard: ASRock 945GCM-S Socket 775 Motherboard Core 2 Duo
Not sure what the chipset is, i guess you could google it.
Everything else was old, free, and doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things. I was thinking of trying to get a cheap core 2 duo or core 2 quad, but i don't really know how they compare to the pentium d's in terms of gaming speed/just normal speed in general. People tell me the 9400's bad, but it seems pretty pro to me so far. What makes it "so bad"? Also, my MOBO can support up to 4 gigs or memory, is buying 2 more gigs worth it?
Finally, people tell me the new SSD drives are much faster than traditional hard drives. Would getting one speed up my system much?
Basically, i'd like you to tell me what you think of my new system and suggest some good upgrades that are cheap thanks
