Yea I would say that Lexar from my experience have been the best price/performance thumbdrive. I bought some 16gb on boxing day for 12.99 cdn. I also have some others from a company called Dane-Elec that are 8gbs. I bought them from the Source for 7.99 and they have a lifetime warranty. Even Lexar doesn't have a warranty like that.

The Corsair have some of the fastest read/write speeds that I´m aware of.
I record from a TDT USB recorder/player,and for recording MPEG 2 you need something quick. Also they are water resistant. (Beer Spillage :D )

I alsmost forgot. The kingston Green retractable 8gig is a lot cheaper and high speed read and write.
You could also look at a 2.5 external case with a (up to 500g) laptop HD , which does´nt need external power .

Thanks guys, The Kingston Data Traveler HyperX seems quite good to but around £21 for 4GB.
Hmm decisions, decisions....

I think i'll get a SanDisk 8GB Cruzer Titanium, Seems a bargain at £17.
Although i heard that higher capacity thumbs have a slightly slower Read/write time?

The sandisk cruzer has good read speeds (around 20mbps) but the write speeds are very poor. I purchased the 16g cruzer and I wished I had´nt.:(

What would you suggest instead? There are mixed reviews about them, Most say brilliant and perfect for readyboost, While another says no good for vista.
Some remove the U3 software but i think i'd give it a chance.
I dont think i'll find a better 8GB for £15? (Amazon)

Personaly I would go for:
1. Corsair gt. Very fast read/write. water resistant.shock resistant. 34MB sec/read and 27mb/write
2. DataTraveler HyperX 30 MB/sec read speeds and 20 MB/sec write.
3. Sandisk cruzer titanium. reasonable speeds 15MB/s read, 9MB/s write

Some remove the U3 software but i think i'd give it a chance.
I also formatted mine after reading about the U3 software.

The cruzer titanium is a great flash drive. It's not the fastest, but it's near indestructible and the capless design is brilliant.
