Best Video card for around $250?

I agree with hermes and maroon, the 8800GT is right now the best for the price although if you could stretch those $250 a little, I would say you get the 8800GTS (G92) which definately is the ultimate price/performance card.

Nice, also ninja I cant post on your ad about the flight sim stuff but if your looking for a good joystick thats not Force feed back go with the Logitech 3d Pro Joystick, you can get them at directron.com for 27.99 I think cheaper then bestbuys 41.99. Just bought one myself. Great buy for the price.
 
I actually just bought a Saitek Av8R which is a great stick, but no force feedback which is kinda a drag :( But now all I need is some rudders and im set for blazing angels 2 (which is awesome even on crappy settings) and FSX!

I kind of missed the NVidia desktop manager when later seeing the ATI Cat. CCen. when swapping cards on one old build. The HD 2600XT however is doing a great job here while you were wondering about which brand of card to go with.

I've been running MSI models on the last builds with good results. They may not always be the great performer while still being reliable. EVGA is also a good name there to consider. The MSI 8800GTS 320mb model is seen for a lower price and small mail in rebate at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127328
