BEST VIDEO CARD FOR UNDER $160 (roughly)

so yeah i have around $160 to spend on a video card, and won't be able to get past that amount. so i have an agp system i want to upgrade the video card. just wondering if you guys have an idea of the best card i could get for that price. i have no idea what im getting since i didnt make my set up and know nothing about anything about video cards. haha..i want to be able to play oblivion in decent to high settings and is also future proof. please help thanks.:confused:
 
The 7800GS is a great card if you can stretch a little bit, but if not, the 7600GS is plenty good enough for most games on mid settings. However, for oblivion on high settings, you'll need more than $160.
 
x1650 from his any good? the 512mb one? it cost like 134 at newegg..not sure if there's anything wrong with it...
 
yeah i just found a gddr3 version of that on new egg which is cheaper for some reason.. but i guess its because it's only 256mb.
 
7600 Gt

I would definatley go for a good 7600 GT, i have one (see my sig) and it works perfectly well, and it doesn't need a power connector...
 
if you want to play oblivion on the highest settings you'll need either an 8800 or an x1900. the 7 series has a big problem with fsaa and hdr, it cant do both at the same time wether it has enough power for it or not. basically you'll need pci-e or you can't play it on highest settings.
