I lost my last order for an open box 8800gts and now i have to find another one for under 100 dollars. I have an m2n sli deluxe mobo so its an n'vidia chipset and only does pci e x16 and does not have the x16 2.0.

does anyone have a good suggestion as im not sure what would be the best bang for my buck.

PCIe 2.0 is backwards compatible. In other words PCIe 2.0 card will run on just a PCIe slot.

But will I be paying for the extra speed that I dont need? :( >.<""!
If it is backwards compatible, the video card is going to be bottlnecking at my pci bus. Which means I am paying for more performance that I am not receiving, right? :D

Nope. It's been tried and tested, 8800GT only loses a few frames per second, if even that, when it's in a PCIE 1.x slot. You won't notice the difference. It's not powerful enough to saturate all bandwidth of even the PCI-E 1.x bus, so you're fine, it won't bottleneck.

You may also want to look into Radeon 3870s, they perform about as good as 8800GTs and you should be able of finding those for under $100. If not, consider 9600GTs, they're excellent sub-$100 performers.

thank you so much :) i will be ordering that 88gt your totally awesome, you rock!!! :D

now to finding a power supply to compliment my card without busting the bank.
