HI, I have an asus m3a motherboard amd phenom9950 quad core black 2.60 ghz 4.gbmemory and a nvidia gforce 9800gt which i would like to upgrade.any suggestions as to a good card that will perform with this motherboard.thanks:)

What games do you want to play? Because with those specs you will be able to run pretty much any game out there. Of course, some of the new ones you will have to turn the graphics down to medium. But that's just a couple of games like Crysis etc.

What do you want to spend on a card? Plus what power supply do you have?

Try the Radeon 6950 2GB versions. You can unlock the shaders on them in your BIOS, which allows them to perform like a 6970 without the extra cash.

I would second this option to work with your system depending on what your budget and PSU are...

thanks everyone.my son is now thinking of going the whole hog and getting a new mobo, memory the works.

you could possibly do the whole schibang, if i was going to, id do that, but grab a six core phenom, 8 gigs of ram, and possibly a GTX560 Ti, just for ease of use...the shader mod isnt for the faint of heart, so i would more or less recommend the 560 for performance, or the 460 if you are wanting to save some money.
