Hello:
I have a Dell laptop as well as a new desktop. Both run on XP. Not being all that computer literate I am unsure exactly the best method that I should use in backing up valuable data on the computers. I basically need to be able to retrieve the following in the event of a hard drive crash: photos taken from digital camera, music files and MS Word docs. I continually add to these files, so I would like to have the ability to create a recent backup of this data about once a month.
Any suggestions (datailed as to the steps that I must take to perform the suggested task) are much appreciated. I have a DVD-ROM drive in my laptop and dual drives on the desktop (DVD-RW, DVD-ROM). I am open to all suggestions, but want to avoid purchasing an external hard drive or spending much money on this. So, if it cost effective and will work properly, then I can backup this data on CD's or DVD's. I am talking about a few Gigs total of data. Thanks!!!
