Best way to bring cpu/case temps down

hi,

-I have the stock intel heatsink/fan for my socket 478 [email protected] northwood. Which for a fresh air intake has one single 80mm exaust fan at the rear, and an 80mm exaust for the psu. (2 80mm)

-there is room for 2- 60mm intake fans at the front

-80mm exaust at the back could be a 120mm,

-if i got a new cpu heatsink/fan i could mount maybe 2 more exaust 60mm fans at the side

I was also looking at "pci slot fans" and "drive bay fans", with 5 free pci slots and 3 free drive bays i have lots of room

which would cool the case/cpu the most for like 70$ us

Hello you have access to mounting plenty of case fans fill up all places you can mount one a 120mm added would be a great help

the PSU by the way is not to be counted as a cooling fan for your system the PSU fan has a job of its own to do and its not to cool your system, although they perfrom this function in a round about way higher heat than you should have is killing your PSU !

I would not mess with any PCI slot blowers they dont move much air and are pricey for what they do

look for thermaltake and zalman fans on ebay for spec info until you find some good model numbers to buy

not all fans are created equal ! some 80mm fans will only push 1700 cfm while others will move over 2800cfm

also pay attention to noise factor but if you move alot of air its gonna make more noise than a doggy model a 2800cfm should make more noise than a 1700cfm model when comparing noise make sure they both move the same amount of air

case fans will give you the most bang for the buck !! and you should not spenmd more than $30.00 doing it either !

goodluck and enjoy
