hey. im wanting to upgrade my pc and i only get about 200 every other week and im wondering how i would go about upgrading my pc in steps, as in almost the whole pc.

the place i will be buying from is
http://www.canadacomputers.com/, so please link me to any particular parts i should buy, almost, im only wanting to spend about 100 every 2 weeks, so please keep the price near 100.

Ive already bought this:
Code:
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=019779&cid=999.243

here are all the specs i could find on my pc

so ive already got a graphic card coming in the mail, so the one in the picture is my old one.
what else should i buy, i can buy one more thing right now possibly, also im a gamer, i play counterstrike.

please serious posts only
Thank You All!!

well from what i understand you want to buy parts one at a time? well if so you can save alot on shipping if you just put the money aside andbuy everything at one time

dont got the money for that, so i need to know what to do, what to buy first. each part $100 or less or near

your best bet is to listen to everyones advice and SAVE up the freaking money then buy parts. Your not going to get crap for $100 or less.

lol, well its possible, and its what im going to do, and its all i can do, im only 17 i dont save that much money, so just let me know were to start, obviously a better gfx card improved my pc, and it was less than 100, so im sure thewres lots of other parts i can improve on.

i would use the pc you have now and just build a whole new intel system bit by bit!!

just means you wont be able to use it until its complete but your options for the system you have now are limited!

start with a half decent mobo then a core2duo cpu then the ram (cheap for ddr2 800mhz)

the sytem you have is old-to upgarde your chip to something decent you would have to upgrade your board or vice versa

Begin with buying things that don't go down in value as much as some other parts (PSU, RAM Memory, and to some extent Mobo)

Then, take the other advice and save a few dollars, and buy the other things (CPU, Video Card) together.

If you just by one thing at a time, what will happen is you will by the best at the moment. With that, there will always be something bottlenecking your whole system. Unless you decide on all the things you want to buy now, and then stick with them even if other better things drop in price. Does not make much sense that way though...

the op has two choices-save up for full rig or buy parts bit by bit....

200 every 2 weeks will see him some good parts but it wont be a quick build and yes like everyone else he will find by the time the build is finnished there will be things he bought going for cheaper but thats the way pc's have been for a while now

If you really don't want to wait, save up till you can buy the motherboard, processor and gfx card and get those, then slowly buy the rest. You might also need a new PSU so you might need to save up for that along with the mobo and the other 2 things i listed

You can probably get a cpu and mobo on the first 2 weeks if you really don't want to wait.

I understand you don't get much money so I recommend getting AMD. Get a AMD, AMD2+ motherboard that will work for the dual cores, as well as the phenoms.

The mobo I one that I really recommend but it's not on your site but I found a very similar one also by Gigabyte http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=017788&cid=MB.350

For processor I suggest getting a dualcore for now, and a phenom when they drop in prices. You can get one now but it's unnecessary, I have the best AMD dual core and it works like a charm and it's under us 100 dollars.

Here is the AMD 5600+ one of the best AMD dual cores, with a 15 dollar rebate. http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=017438&cid=CPU.907

You could add 50 bucks and get a phenom but it's your call altough the cpu I provided will do a great job for at least 1 year, after then it will still be good but might have trouble playing the latest games that are graphic intensive, not sure if you will be playing those though

i thank you very much for your post, exactly what i was looking for, links and everything. and my goal is to update slowely, i dont really care if it goes out of date, i mean, my first part is the graphic card, and i didnt even pay for it, some kid over the internet did, and thats how i plan to get the rest of my parts, with paying some myself. im wanting to upgrade in steps, so i can use the parts as i go along, my first choice was graphic card, cause i know i can plug it in and use it, now my question is, what should i buy next? if i buy that mobo, will all my current stuff work in it?

edit: also the link u showed for mobo has Integrated ATI Radeon HD3200-based graphics (DX10) , does that mean i can take it out?

Oh I forgot you already have the gfx card. Well I don't know much on motherboards but I believe you can disable the intergrated GPU and use your gfx card in it.

So that means you could have mobo, cpu, and gfx in after 2 weeks, as long as your PSU can support it.

How much W is your psu?

edit: didnt fully reply to your post give me a sec

ok bad news. It's impossible for you to get an upgrade in 2 weeks.

This is because you have ddr (I'm 90% sure, if its DDR2 then tell me) and that motherboard does not support DDR ram only DDR2. You would have to add about 30 bucks (I reccomend getting 1 x 2 gb ram, 1 gb ram is not enough)

I would get get the ram that I have because it's doesn't cost too much, is good and has a 20 dollar rebate meaning 30 dollars for the 2 gb ram http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=013789&cid=RAM.346.307

So if you were to pay 230 dollars you might be able to get your computer working, but your PSU probably might not support it

Not sure about PSU's but you can find one for under 50 dollars dont know anything about them

Okay, im not sure about the psu either, and my ram is DDR(200mhz), kingston is the brand. and your probably right i should get ddr2.

Okay, so heres where im at, what should i buy next, so that i can use it, a mobo? a CASE?, PSU?
1. Graphic Card
2.
3.
4.
5.

i checked the watts, and it went from 180 to 500. so im not sure, ther was like a list.
actually its a lpk2 - 30, i cant find a pic on google though
edit:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/miltie/PSU_LPK2-30.jpg mines like that but goes up to 500. so i think its a 500, or maybe lpk2 30s only go to 400? but thats what mine is, so i tihnk its 400 or 500

Take off the side panel of your case and take a look at your psu, theres probably a sticker on it saying the W.

Well you need to get PSU, mobo, ram, and cpu to get it working

GEtting a mobo will make your gfx card fit and work, but your current cpu will not fit in it and your current PSU might not have enough power to work with your gfx card

Case isn't that important, unless it's small so the gfx card might not fit
