looking to get an all in one computer for Christmas. cant seeem to decide between the imac and dell xps 27. looking for some opinions that might help me decide.

or if you have another recommendation I'm listening

Well the first question is what do you want to do? They're good for different things.

schoolwork (word, excel, powerpoint)
web browsing
streaming music
watching movies

I was leaning towards iMac because of superior display/viewing angles for watching movies, but i think the dell has a better price and would be better suited for school (with microsoft office)

i only use the computer for basic things like these, but I want an all in one because less clutter and I dont have a TV in my room, so it will take over TV duties as well. or atleast movies

a simple dell will handle wordprocessing and such, dont need a mac or xps for that.
And you don't need the system in your signature to play games. If it was just about need there would be far fewer high end systems on this forum.

Anyway, the iMac is the pinnacle of all-in-ones, and has been for sometime. I would consider it an easy decision. We have a fleet of 27" iMacs where I work, and we've just deployed a handful of XPS One 27 machines. The XPS is a good machine, but still behind in many areas.
