Better Performance w/more Hard Drives?

My internal drive is filling up and my computer seems to be lagging a bit.

If I get an additional internal drive, and use that to install all 3rd party application, and leave the original drive for Windows OS and standard files, will that increase my performance??

P.S. I have an external which I use to keep all my media and backup install files.

THANKS!

The short answear no and it may casue problems if you try and use it like your suggesting. A better solution would be to get a larger drive and replace your current one. You can clone the data from the old hard drive to the new one. Some programs will not allow you to install them on a drive other then the C: drive were Windows is located. I do however recoomend using 1 drive for Windows and your programs and a 2nd drive for your data.
