better processor for gaming

I do major gaming and want a processor that will last really long and run alot of games here are my 2 options to choose from amd althlon 64 fx-62 windsor 2.8 or a core 2 duo e6600 2.4 i dont want to overclock on any of my processors

Yes the Core 2 is better in gaming. Obviously not the FX-62 vs the E6300, but when compared to the E6600 and higher, it usually it.
