hello, i need a socet 7 processor that runs at 533mhz.

the reason i need this is because i am currently running a 200mhz processor. you may laugh but i dont care, i love this computer! i have had it since 1995 or 97.

i might show you some pictures later, but as of now i cant.

so, anyone want to sell one?

i will also give you my 200mhz if that will cut some off the price, because i am on a low budjet.

Thanks,

Haha, seriously? Heh, well one of the better processors would probably be the Pentium 233MHz with MMX. You could try something like a K6-2, I know they got up to around 533MHz, but over-all, they were quite slow...

And you can't possibly get a new computer? i think you would be suprised at how much a new computer will improve your experience. Otherwise, look on eBay.

The K6-2+ and K6-III+ were not to bad, but the regular K6-2 and the first K6-III were kinda over rated by AMD! I still have a K6-2 333 and a K6-III 450 but there not up for sale, you could look in some small local computer stores.

thanks people, i am looking into the k6-2. and you are right one dollar will not hurt.

but i already have a new computer, well its a server so it is a little over the top for normal use. but the reason i want to keep this computer is because it was my first. i am 16 and i got this computer when i was about 6, and it means alot to me. so i cant get rid of it.

I'm going to share a funny AMD story .. why I lov ethe K6-2 so much.

I had a K6-2 533. It was watercooled and running at 700mhz ... I know insane!

Well I come home from school one day and the pump had failed, and the Abit motherboard I had decided not to shut down when the CPU temp got too hot. I never found out how hot it really got, but the plastic on the socket was melted and I had to physically pry the chip fro mthe motherboard. I bought a new mobo etc to setup my system again (with a better quality pump) and thought what the hell lets give the old CPU a try. the damn thing worked. I've bought AMD ever since.

thanks, it goes to about 13-14 $ after shipping, that is perfect.

tyvm. i think i am going to go AMD from now on

not to rain on your parade, but your computer is not going to ever be as good as you may want it to be. most people have one gig +, you may have, like 64 megs? not insulting you, but holding on to a computer for sentimental reasons just doesnt make sense
