Better than IE?

I've been seeing in numerous posts, and looking around online. Everyone seems to think Bill Gates's Internet Explorer sucks!? I can't believe it!

-edit-
^Sarcasm^

Anyway, what are some good browsers? (I.E. share please?), What makes them better than IE?

I've always loved Mozilla Firefox myself. One thing that's great about it is the security is far better and it prevents alot of pop ups from occuring.

Firefox is really good. Even my dad uses it lmao...cuz he seen it on my screen i think. Once configured it rocks.

I used to like Mozilla better than Firefox because for some reason Firefox ran slow. I recently tried FireFox on another computer and it works great! I love tabbed browsing! You still need to keep IE around for websites that look horrible in Mozilla. This is ecspecially if you use Sun's Solaris version of Mozilla, almost every website looks horrible with it. Firefox is only going to get better but there are 3rd party plugins that now add tabbed browsing to IE and IE 7 is coming "soon" so it is anyones guess what the better browser will be. For now I stick with Mozilla or Firefox and keep IE for certain websites.

I've benn using firefox 1.0.4 for a while now and just upgraded to 1.0.6 and it is so much better, it looks the same but page rendering times are chopped immensely.

One of the best things about Firefox is the fact that they are constantly upgrading the browser, patching holes, getting rid of hi-jacks and so forth. For instance, I got 1.0.4 about 3 or 4 weeks ago and now it's already up to 1.0.6 kudos to Mozilla on their dedication to quality! Who wants to say that about Microsoft and IE??? Any takers ;)

IE, hmmm..... well.... Its a good browser but is so WIDELY used it has become the main target of nearly ALL internet attacks and security loop holes. I dont like IE because i dont like the idea of people getting force-fed a certain peice of software when they buy windows. IE is OK as a first off basic.

I've never tried Firefox... is it really that much better than IE?

I don't get pop-ups with IE but I have Spybot, Adware, and MS Antispyware installed along with the XP pop-up blocker activated... works great for me on all of our computers.

If Firefox is faster somehow then maybe I need to check it out.

Yeah, Firefox is the greatest. Anybody heard of Opera (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called)? I haven't used it but I know of some people that do.

up untill about 5 months ago...not too long after i started working on computers for a living, i never even knew there was a different explorer except IE. since the 1st time i tried firefox, i've been hooked. haven't used IE since
i dont have my own system completed yet, so i use my dads. and he always had problems with spyware and stuff like that. i'd have to run spybot at least twice a week. and do a system restore at least once a month
since we started using firefox, i have not had to do a system restore once. and i have ran spybot a few time, and the only thing it ever finds is that irratating spyware that's still there from IE
and so easy to use too

firefox is much better then IE
but, like stated previously, make sure not to delete IE. some websites, in order to view them, you need IE
some sites just won't load at all with firefox

i had never even heard of thuinderbird. but god its so much better. This jsut highlights the crap that we are force-fed by microsoft, and most people dont know any better.

I've been using it for a few days on several of my desktop computers and it's working fairly well. It's does seem to be just a tad slower that IE though. I hope they can get that worked out... unless maybe I don't have something setup right... don't know what it would be.

On my laptop it is slow to open for some reason. No other programs, including IE are that slow to get started. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 clicks to get it going (from quick launch bar).

Hmm Firefox is certainly popular, i use it myself but i still stick with internet explorer
Why? Its just that most of the game sites that i use are compatible best with internet explorer and not mozilla firefox
I mean, you can get everything that firefox has if you download add ons such as msn toolbar, which gives you tabbed browsing, and windows sp2, which gives you a pop-up blocker
