Adding bd burner, and a few desktop customization prog's., a couple being 3D. Want to incorporate big screen plasma for HT use.

Nothing too graphically intense like hard core gaming.

Have 4290 ob.
If that's not enough or is borderline, will 5450/hybrid be enough(25% boost but perhaps not worth it)?
If I need a dedicated card, what options do I have? Perhaps ATI/AMD because of my motherboard.
Would I need a bigger psu.

Could someone brief me on the diff.'s between GDDR5 vs DDR3?

*could have swore i posted this already. if it's a double pls let me know or remove.

OK, Thanks

A 5770 would be in the $ range that I'd spend on a card.
ATI says 500w for it, and Antec's psu calculator says 426
(conservative)for my specs w/ 5770.
Is 500w good for 5770?

Finding the dimensions for a card is like pulling teeth.
Are there any good ones that are 8' or just a tad more, in length?
Sapphire is highly reguarded but I'm sure the better ones or even all of them here are more than 8".

Length means nothing with video cards, except higher end models are longer, that's about it. For reference the XFX 5770's (custom pcb) are 8.25"

But video card length may mean something with cases. Your reference helps. I'm looking for a 5770 that will fit the case i'm currently using and I have less than 8.25". 8" would be safe. Any recommends?

What do you guys think of the length this 5770 is, if you compare it to the these 1st 2?
asus 5750 7.18"

xfx 5750 7.25"

The shape of the shroud may allow it. Depends on how long it looks.
sapphire vapor x 5770 ?

Does it appear more than 8.25"?
Seems like Asus and Sapphire are good quality. Yes?
What about that xfx model?
Thanks
