BF2 Crashes

I download the BF2 demo on the EA website, and got it to run. However, it seems to freeze up and crash for no reason. I was able to get into the game and play at one point. The game will start up fine, but than suddenly, at no particular area, like trying to create a game/ join a server/etc., it will freeze up, and I can't do anything but restart the computer.

My system specs are below, note, my vid card is the minimum, but i dont think thats causing this problem. Im using xp pro.

the video card is definately not the prob, because even a fx5200 runns it.

have you checked your CPU temp?
because i think it might be your CPU overheating and the mobo shutting it down.

i was thinking temps, but i recntly moved around fans, and its been pretty stable around 41c, although, ive never run anything as demanding as BF@, only Doom 3. Anyway, I believe the m/b should beep at about 60c or so. Ill look into it though, thanks. Other suggestions welcome...

Some sources I goggled mentioned defragmenting, so Ill I will see what happens after that.

I dont think it would be the ram either, the game says 512+ min., 1gb recommended. Again, its just the demo, i want to get the whole version, but if I can't even get the demo working, no sense in wasting money.

my friens pc runns BF2 with only 256 Mb RAM.

but.. whats your driver version? :)
i think that could be the problem

not sure, ill check that out. However, it did run once fine before, and it does load up, just not usualy to the point of starting a game, so if it where a driver thing, wouldnt it just not run at all?

i got a 3.0 gig pentium 4 with 1.5 gigs of ram and radeon 9200 lol i freeze at the point right after the movie when u start up bf2 is this exzpeted to freeze at the main menu.... and yet my comp can endure the damn movie with no lagg...
